- Invoicing software for the EPFL CMi
EPFL’s Center of MicroNanoTechnology manages a large number of cleanroom machines that can be used by EPFL laboratories and external clients. The service’s billing is therefore quite complex, as it must take into account a large number of parameters. To simplify this work, we were given the mandate to develop a Python software (PyFactEl) which, when the necessary CSV files are entered (customers, users, supplies, uses, pricing, …), issues detailed invoices (at through Latex), a billing list and various monthly balance sheets (in CSV form).
- QGIS plugin for Lausanne’s cadastre
The cadastre service of the City of Lausanne has taken the avant-garde decision to use QGIS, a free software, as a Geographic Information System. QGIS, which is developed in C ++ / Qt, is open to everyone for improvements and it allows the development of Python plugins. As some of the tools the Service needed are not available or poorly implemented, we were given the mandate to create a plugin in the City’s name containing various tools (VDLTools), such as the copy of an object, the interpolation of some points’ altitude or the display of a line’s elevation profile.
